Privacy, by architecture.
NyayVaani is built so there is very little to disclose. Your documents never leave your machine, and the fewer places your data can go, the shorter this page needs to be.
Your documents stay on your machine.
NyayVaani indexes and searches your matter files entirely on your own device. We don’t operate a document store, so we couldn’t disclose, lose, or hand over what we never received.
That is true of every plan. What differs is who calls the model, and we would rather set that out plainly than offer an absolute that a later plan quietly makes false. Today NyayVaani ships in one form only — Desktop, with your own key — and in that form nothing you work on reaches us at all.
- Your documents
- are read, indexed, and searched on your disk. Nothing is uploaded, mirrored, cached, or retained on any server we operate.
- Your prompts, on Desktop
- travel directly from your machine to the model provider you chose — Anthropic, Google, OpenAI or Fireworks — under your own key. We don’t sit in the middle, we don’t see the request, and there is nothing for us to log.
- Your prompts, on a server-managed plan
- pass through our server, because that is what being managed means: we hold the provider key and make the call for you, so you don’t have to open a provider account. A prompt carries the passage of your document it is about, so that text is processed on our server. It is handled transiently, cached no longer than 48 hours to serve the request, and never used to train a model — ours or anyone else’s. Your documents themselves are still never uploaded; the matter stays on your disk.
- Your key
- is stored on your device in your operating system’s keychain and is never transmitted to us. On a server-managed plan there is no key on your device at all: we proxy the request under our own credential. We never send a provider key to your machine, on any plan — including a team one.
What we do collect.
- Account and early-access details you give us directly — name, email, firm, and anything you write to us.
- Product usage signals needed to keep the service running — error reports and request timestamps — never the content of a document or a prompt.
- Billing information, if you’re on an included plan, handled by our payment processor. We don’t store card numbers ourselves.
We don’t run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this website. The only thing it saves in your browser is your light/dark theme preference, in local storage — it never leaves your device.
Retention & deletion.
Since documents and prompts never reach us, there’s nothing of yours to retain or purge on that front. Account and usage data is kept for as long as your account is active, plus a short operational window, then deleted. Write to us and we’ll delete what we hold sooner.
Your choices.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at hello@nyayvaani.ai. Because NyayVaani is local-first, deleting your account doesn’t touch anything on your machine — that data was always yours.
Changes to this policy.
If this changes in a way that matters, we’ll say so plainly here, with a new effective date, and where required, tell you directly. We don’t rewrite history quietly. Questions go to hello@nyayvaani.ai.
